Das is new economic affairs secy, Hasmukh Adhia revenue secretary

In another late night round of bureaucratic appointments, Revenue Secretary Shaktikanta Das was appointed Secretary, Economic Affairs. He will replace Rajiv Mehrishi who superannuates on August 31. Financial Services Secretary Hasmukh Adhia will be the new Revenue Secretary while Corporate Affairs Secretary Anjuly Chib Duggal has been named the new Financial Affairs Secretary. She will replace Adhia.

According to the appointments cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Rajasthan cadre IAS officer Sunil Arora will replace Bimal Julka as the new Information and Broadcasting Secretary. Julka also retires on August 31.

Gujarat cadre IAS officer Tapan Ray will replace Anjuly Chib Duggar as the new Corporate Affairs Secretary. J S Deepak, currently posted as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, will be the new Secretary in the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY). He will succeed Ram Sewak Sharma who was recently appointed the chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Zutshi has been named as the next Tourism Secretary. He will replace Lalit Panwar. Among other appointments, Air India’s Chairman and Managing Director Rohit Nandan has been named as the next Secretary, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’ Development Commissioner Amarendra Sinha has been named the next Secretary of National Commission of Minorities. He will replace Rajiv Takru who superannuates on September 30.

Raghav Chandra, currently serving as Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmer Welfare, has been appointed the next Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India.
