Directed by Nila Madhab Panda, ‘I Am Kalam’ was released in the year 2011. The movie delivered a beautiful message that children go to school for transformation, not just for information. The movie revolved around Chhotu (Harsh Mayar) who was time and again asked to work at a roadside food stall. His mother would explain him that going to school was not his destiny, but as Chhotu watches Dr Kalam deliver his speech on screen, he takes the course of his destiny in his hands, changes his name to “Kalam” and wants to be someone who is respected by all.
