Top 10 richest people (billionaires) in the world in 2025: On Monday, Google cofounder Larry Page surpassed Oracle cofounder Larry Ellison to become the world’s second-richest person.
Forbes reported that this increase in Page’s wealth was driven by Alphabet’s stock continuing a weeklong rally on AI momentum, while Oracle’s shares suffered a massive drop over the past week.
Similarly, Sergey Brin, who co-founded Google with Page in 1998, has also risen in ranks and is now the world’s fourth-richest person, pushing Amazon’s Jeff Bezos down to fifth place.
On the other hand, Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk, currently the world’s richest individual with an estimated net worth of $480.5 billion, is on track to become history’s first trillionaire. This follows a recent shareholder vote approving a potentially $1 trillion stock compensation package.
Interestingly, the world’s top 10 richest individuals are men—nine of them Americans, with LVMH’s Bernard Arnault from France being the exception. He notably rose from the 10th to the 7th place in the rankings.
Driven by surging valuations and shifting market power, both the number of billionaires and their net worth continue to rise. In 2025, the Forbes Billionaires List recorded a rise of 3,028 billionaires worldwide—crossing the 3,000 mark for the first time in history—with a combined net worth of $16.1 trillion.
