Rishi Kapoor back on Twitter after plans of quitting

Rishi Kapoor, who is extremely active on Twitter - sharing his opinions about current affairs and his personal life- is likely to quit Twitter.

Rishi Kapoor Rishi Kapoor seems to have changed his mind about retiring from social networking site, Twitter.

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is back on social networking site, Twitter after sharing his plans of quitting the site this morning. The actor also posted about the current Salman Khan 2002 hit-and-run case, wherein the ‘Dabangg’ actor’s five-year jail sentence has been suspended by the Bombay High Court.

Rishi Kapoor seems to have changed his mind about retiring from the social networking site after a long chat with filmmaker Sajid Khan.

Bollywood veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who is known to be quite vocal when it comes to voicing his opinion, is also extremely active on Twitter – sharing his opinions about current affairs and updates about his personal life along with family matters.

The actor recently got into a spat with followers on Twitter after he posted his disagreement with singer Abhijeet and former Bigg Boss housemate Ajaz Khan in relation to the Salman Khan 2002 hit-and-run case verdict. Following the flak and criticism he received, Rishi Kapoor declared that he is retiring from the social networking site. Fellow actor Anupam Kher, who is also an established member of the Twitterati appealed to Rishi Kapoor not to quit the site. Anupam Kher and Rishi Kapoor have worked in films like ‘Chandni’, Shreeman Aashique’, ‘Chashme Baddoor’ to name a few.

On being asked to comment about his father on Twitter, Ranbir had said on Thursday: “My father and me are different people. I think Twitter and my father are made for each other because my father likes to speak his mind. He can be really funny and controversial also. And I guess people like that, they don’t want to see politically correct people and my father is the most politically incorrect person.”

In the past Rishi Kapoor has also blogged about problems with his son Ranbir Kapoor, who is not on any social networking site and known to be extremely private when it comes to discussing his personal life and relationships. (Read: Ranbir doesn’t live with us, says Rishi Kapoor )

However, the ‘Bombay Velvet actor says he has nothing against Twitter. “I feel that for an actor we don’t really have freedom of speech. You say something and there are so many interpretations. Now, why should I take this extra headache of saying something and then holding a press conference where I have to explain and clarify. So I have my own personal reservations,” said Ranbir Kapoor.

Rishi Kapoor had in one of his tweets had written that he is not his son’s mailbox.

He had posted: “Another thing. I am Not and repeat NOT Ranbirs Post Box that you can drop messages or post them. Thank you,I remain yours truly-Rishi Kapoor.”
