Six of family found dead in Amravati district

Six members of a family were found dead at Anjangaon Surji town in Amravati district on Tuesday. They are suspected to have consumed poison.

While the police have registered a case of suicide, they are not ruling out other possibilities. The six members of the family were Prafulla Narayan Chavan (48), his brother Vivek (40), sisters Laxmi (50) and Mangala (52) and their two nieces Kamini (29) and Roshni Barad (26).

Incidentally, all the victims were unmarried. They apparently consumed poison on Monday night. The deaths came to light on Tuesday afternoon when the Barad sisters’ brother Roshan came knocking at the door of Chavans’ residence.
