33-year-old sexually assaulted toddler in front of his kids: Delhi cops

Police said the toddler was playing with the accused’s children around 10.30 am on Wednesday, when the accused assaulted her in the same room. “Rakesh’s wife was washing clothes on the terrace and rushed downstairs on hearing the child scream,” an officer said.

The toddler’s relative alleged that Rakesh’s wife took the child back home and told them that she started bleeding from her private parts after falling on the ground. “Her mother rushed her to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where doctors told her she had been sexually assaulted. She has undergone a surgery; she has four stitches in her private parts,” an officer said. “The accused, who works at a printing press, fled the house. But he was caught on Wednesday night,” the officer added.

Following the incident, Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal tweeted that she was going to meet the victim at the hospital: “1.5 year old baby brutally raped in Aman Vihar. Operated for 1.5 hrs. Pl @rajnathsingh ji, call hi level meet of CM, LG, Police Comm & DCW! (sic).”
