Railways has announced a revised fare structure, the 2nd hike in six months, effective for tickets issued on or after Dec 26, 2025. Suburban services, season tickets, and second class ordinary journeys up to 215 km will not be affected. The basic fares of major trains have been uniformly and gradually increased, while extra charges like reservation fees and superfast surcharges remain unchanged.
