M Singaravelu, at the first CPI conference, discussed national and international issues from a communist perspective. He highlighted the economic basis of untouchability and criticized the Congress party as bourgeois. Singaravelu rejected Gandhi's khadi campaign and defined communism as fair distribution of production.
