Shravan Hanasoge is a professor of astrophysics at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai. His research focuses on understanding the internal dynamics of the Sun, how stars evolve, and how data and algorithms can reveal hidden patterns in the cosmos. His projects range from predicting solar storms to exploring how machines might one day assist in solving deep scientific questions. Shravan received his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University, and his B.Tech. degree from IIT Madras. Subsequently, he was a postdoctoral scholar at Princeton University, New York University and Max Planck Institute. Outside of work, he enjoys running, swimming, yoga, reading science fiction, and spending time with his family (although not necessarily in that order).
