AIADMK hits back at Karuna with his remarks against Lord Rama

Stalin had remarked that his father was associated with construction of new assembly complex brick by brick.

Quoting DMK chief M Karunanidhi’s controversial remarks against Lord Rama over the Sethusamudram issue, the ruling AIADMK today sought to hit back at him on the issue of a new Assembly complex built during his regime, wondering whether he possessed an engineering degree.

Referring to former deputy chief minister M K Stalin’s past remarks that his father Karunanidhi was associated with the construction of the new assembly-cum-secretariat complex brick by brick,AIADMK member S Valarmathy during a debate in the Assembly asked,”Does it mean Karunanidhi possesses an engineering degree?”

The AIADMK government has stopped construction activity on the new complex pending an inquiry into “alleged irregularities” in the Rs 1,000 crore project after Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced she will continue to work from the centuries-old Fort St George citing administrative reasons.
