Screengrab of videos by ANI and Congress's official Instagram handle
As 88 seats across 13 states went to polls on Friday in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, viral videos doing the rounds on social media platforms was the standout factor of the day. While some were part of the creative election campaign efforts by political parties across the country, others were among some earlier clips that have resurfaced creating some buzz.
Here’s a round-up of what was buzzing on social media today:
‘Bulldozer rally’ welcome for Yogi in Chhattisgarh
Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath who was in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur on Sunday (April 21) received a rather unique welcome — a line-up of bulldozers on the road — awaiting his arrival. The “bulldozer rally” by BJP workers in the state was captured by news agency ANI. The video shows bulldozers lined up in queue alongside a road as the CM’s convoy enters Bilaspur for a campaign rally.
Although it happened five days ago, multiple videos have been going viral with X users linking it with the CM’s “bulldozer baba” moniker. Both positive and negative comments on social media highlighted his bulldozer action during the past few years, as part of his government’s alleged crackdown of suspected gangsters by demolishing their homes.
Youth carries Congress manifesto along, ‘fact checks’ Modi on cue
“Show me where Muslim League is mentioned?… It talks about education… Maybe now that education is mentioned, even Modiji might learn to read and write…”. A youngster, who seemingly carries the Congress manifesto around, is seen launching a “fact check” attack on the BJP in the video posted by the Indian National Congress’s official Instagram handle.
This came as part of the opposition party’s strong critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks at an election rally where he said the party’s manifesto had the “stamp of the Muslim League” and that the party would even “snatch women’s mangalsutras” if voted to power.
The 90-second reel garnered over 2.9 million views and 4,600 comments. The boy was also seen hitting out at the PM over his “redistribution of wealth to Muslims” comment based on former PM Manmohan Singh’s 2006 speech.

The Congress captioned the post: “The youth power will no longer be misled. How long and to what extent will Modi ji lie? This young man is giving you the fact check on his fingertips.”
Elderly woman sings in praise of Modi, BJP uses it to attack CM Siddaramaiah
A day before the state went to polls in the second phase of Lok Sabha polls, the BJP’s state unit took to Instagram to post a video of an elderly woman singing about “Modi’s achievements”. The video with over 140k views begins with the woman expressing anger over a Mysuru man allegedly attacked for his song praising PM Modi.
She then goes on to sing a song in Kannada with the chorus Modiya nindisadiru (“Do not blame Modi”).
The bjp4karnataka handle attacked the ruling Congress in the state and said: “They don’t get recorded in studio, get promoted and pat themselves on the back. @siddaramaiah_official. Listen to this song by an old woman about Modi’s achievement at this age, without strategy,”
AAP attacks ‘Modi’s trailer’, urges people to ‘make the film flop’
“Modi’s trailer itself is going to bleed the country’s democracy and constitution. So just imagine how dangerous Modi’s image would be for the country if he gets the power back,” the post by the Aam Aadmi Party on X said.
The video titled ‘The country will make the dictator’s movie flop’ accompanying the post mentioned the Chandigarh mayoral polls, controversy over disqualification of Surat’s Lok Sabha candidates’ nomination and the recent alleged cancellation of Delhi MCD mayoral polls after the possibility of a Dalit candidate winning.
