Shivraj Singh Chouhan Budhni Madhya Pradesh Election Result 2023: CM leads in his home turf, gets closer to continuing his winning streak

The Chief Minister has won this seat four times in a row since 2006. In the last election, he defeated former state Congress president Arun Yadav, the son of ex-CM Subhash Yadav, by over 58,000 votes.

Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan Budhni Election Result 2023: In backdrop of trends indicating a Bharatiya Janata Party sweep in Madhya Pradesh, incumbent CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is leading from Budhni constituency, getting closer to continuing his winning streak at his home turf.

The Chief Minister has won this seat four times in a row since 2006. In the last election, he defeated former state Congress president Arun Yadav, the son of ex-CM Subhash Yadav, by over 58,000 votes.

This time, he is facing television actor Vikram Matsal, who played the role of Hanuman in the 2008 reboot of Ramayan.

Riding on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity, its organisational strength as well as on the goodwill created by the welfare schemes of the Chouhan government, the BJP took a comfortable lead in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

In its single-phase polling for its 230 assembly seats on November 17, Madhya Pradesh recorded its highest ever Assembly election turnout at 76.22%. This went up from 75.63% in 2018, which was the previous record high since the state’s formation in 1956.
