(AP)With President Joe Biden’s decision to opt out of the race in the run up to the president’s office for November, the focus has now shifted to the Vice President and presumed nominee Kamala Harris.
President Biden endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee alongside former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Harris is running ahead of any other possible candidate from the Democratic party.
But now the focus shifts on who would be the running mate of Kamala Harris in the November 5 elections.

In a state which has heavily voted for Republican candidate Donald Trump in 2020 by over 25 percentage points, Andy Beshear has made his politics a success by bringing jobs to Kentucky, supporting public education and expanding healthcare access.

US Transportation Secretary Pete ButtIgieg made headlines in the 2020 primary when he contested against both Biden and Harris and won the first-in-the-nation Iowa caucus.
Pete on Sunday endorsed Harris for the Presidential bid, stating “Harris is now the right person to take up the torch, defeat Donald Trump and succeed Joe Biden … I will do all that I can to help her win,” according to Reuters.

North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper is known for winning in tough waters and focusing on the economic development of the state.
Cooper won the region which has tilted towards Republicans and voted for former President Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020.
Cooper spoke to MSNBC and endorsed Kamala Harris for the presidential bid.
Cooper said, “If you want a nominee who can put Donald Trump’s destruction of Roe at center stage, if you want a nominee who actually prosecuted criminals like Donald Trump, and if you want a nominee who can put Trump’s age and fitness in the forefront, Kamala Harris is the person.”

A former US Navy captain, Mark has had a good rapport with Democrats elite and has made a strong base in a state which has traditionally voted for Republicans but surprisingly voted for Biden in 2020.
In an X post, Kelly endorsed Kamala Harris and wrote, “I couldn’t be more confident that Vice President @KamalaHarris is the right person to defeat Donald Trump and lead our country into the future. She has my support for the nomination, and Gabby and I will do everything we can to elect her President of the United States.”

A lawyer who is now Pennsylvania’s governor, Josh Shapiro took office last year and is already a national celebrity. Josh was Pennsylvania’s attorney general and this legal background is similar to that of Kamala Harris’.
In a statement released by Shapiro, he said “I’ve known Kamala Harris for nearly two decades — we’ve both been prosecutors, we’ve both stood up for the rule of law, we’ve both fought for the people and delivered results. Kamala Harris is a patriot worthy of our support,” as reported by Reuters.
