Among those killed, one man was aged 50, three men aged 30, and a woman in her fifties, the state’s paramedic said. Five people with serious gunshot wounds were provided immediate medical treatment and were rushed to the hospital.

The shooting at the Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street in Jerusalem was reported at MDA’s 101 Dispatch Center at 10.13 am local time, following which medical services were rushed to the place.
Police said the attackers were ‘neutralised’ soon after the shooting began. Their identities and conditions are not immediately known.
As per Times of Israel, the attackers used a makeshift “Carlo” submachine gun, otherwise known as a Carl Gustav, according to images from the scene.
According to security officials, the attackers are believed to be West Bank Palestinians who might have set out from villages in the Ramallah area.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is currently holding “a situation assessment” with the heads of the security establishment following the terror attack at the Ramot junction in Jerusalem this morning, the Prime Minister’s Office in a statement, as per Times of Israel.
Opposition leader Yair Lapid also condemned the attack, sending condolences to the families of those dead and speedy recovery to the wounded. He also expressed support for Israeli security forces “in their efforts to thwart terrorism.”
“A terrible terrorist attack this morning in Jerusalem in which four innocent Israelis were murdered. I strengthen the security forces in their efforts to thwart terrorism. Sending deep condolences to the families of the murdered and a speedy recovery to the wounded,” he wrote on X.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel also condemned the attack, underlining the “importance of arming civilians.” Taking to X, Haskel said, “only through them can such horrific attacks be stopped with fewer casualties and injuries.”

Hamas praised the attack at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem, calling it a “heroic operation.”
“We affirm that this operation is a natural response to the occupation’s crimes and war of extermination it is waging against our people,” the terror group says in a statement, as reported by The Times of Israel.
The group, however, has not taken any responsibility for the attack, but has called on West Bank Palestinians to “escalate the confrontation with the occupation and its settlers.”
