After his capture, Goldberg-Polin’s parents, Rachel and Jon, worked tirelessly to bring attention to their son’s situation. On Sunday, the Israeli military confirmed that Goldberg-Polin had been found dead in a tunnel in Gaza, along with five other hostages.

Born in Oakland, California, Goldberg-Polin moved to Israel with his family when he was young. His parents described him as a “happy-go-lucky” person who loved soccer, music, and geography. He had dreams of traveling the world after the music festival.
Goldberg-Polin’s story is a reminder of the personal cost of conflict and the ongoing suffering of families still waiting for the return of their loved ones. His parents continue to push for the release of all hostages, inspiring many with their strength and determination.
