When you hear that someone is driving an Uber, you rarely imagine them as a successful businessperson running companies worth millions. But Indian entrepreneur Nav Shah recently experienced just that during an Uber ride in Fiji, and the story quickly became a favourite on the Internet.

During the ride, Shah struck a conversation with his 86-year-old driver and asked, “How do you pay your bills?” The driver, humble yet confident, replied, “I am a businessman, and my company does a $175 million turnover.” He went on to reveal that he has been sponsoring 24 girls every year for the past decade, and that all the sponsorship money comes from what he earns driving Uber.

“I have three daughters. I gave them a good education; they’ve done well. So I thought, if I can help other girls achieve their dreams, why not?” said the driver with a smile.

As their conversation continued, the elderly entrepreneur shared details of his ventures: “We own 13 jewellery shops, six restaurants, a local newspaper, and four supermarkets.” When Shah asked whether he had started it all, the driver replied proudly, “My father started in 1929 with five pounds he had.”

Shah uploaded the video along with a long caption that reads, “A man who’s seen it all wealth, business, legacy still grounded in kindness and purpose. He reminded me: True success isn’t about how high you climb, It’s about how many people you lift along the way.”

A third person wrote, “This is why he’s still sharp at 86. He doesn’t need to drive Uber, but doing so keeps him connected to people. It probably gives him new business ideas and keeps his mind active. Science even says social connection like this contributes to longevity. He’s a clever man.”

A fourth user said, “Someday, I want to do this too — no matter how small.”
