When is Union Budget 2024?

Being her sixth budget presentation, including five annual and one interim budget, Sitharaman will equal former Prime Minister Morarji Desai’s record of presenting maximum number of budgets.

Marking the final annual financial statement of the Narendra Modi government’s second term, Sitharaman initiated the final stage of preparations for the Interim Union Budget 2024 on January 24, at the traditional pre-budget ‘halwa’ ceremony, creating a ‘lock-in’ period for officials involved in budget preparation to maintain confidentiality until it is tabled in the Lok Sabha.

When is the Union budget presented?

Sitharaman is expected to lay out the interim budget that is scheduled to be tabled on February 1, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

Owing to the Lok Sabha polls scheduled this year, the comprehensive Union Budget 2024–25, however, will be introduced again in July by the re-elected or incoming new government.
