The two-phase election saw significant voter turnout and extensive political campaigning from all major parties and alliances, making it one of the most closely contested state elections in recent years.
The stage is now being set for the highly awaited results, which will determine whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U)-BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) continues to hold power or whether Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD-led INDIA alliance replaces the nine-time chief minister.
Bihar recorded a voter turnout of 66.91 per cent in the second and final phase of voting for the Assembly elections on Tuesday, with all exit polls predicting a comfortable victory for the incumbent NDA.
It was officially the highest-ever voter turnout in the state since 1951, the Election Commission of India said
The exit polls, which were out after voting concluded, uniformly gave the NDA alliance, led by the BJP and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), a tally far beyond the majority mark of 122 seats in the 243-member House.
Meanwhile, the RJD-led Opposition Mahagathbandhan will win 100 or fewer seats, as per its projections.
According to the official website of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the counting of votes and the announcement of trends for the Bihar Elections 2025 will commence at 8:00 AM on Friday, 14th November 2025, with the final results expected to be declared by the evening.
