Los Angeles-based comedian Nik Dodani narrates the experience of growing up in US as a gay Indian. “My name is Nik. I am an Indian. I am gay and I am 14 years old,” he starts his stand-up act. Posted four days ago, the 21-year-old explains his mother and father’s first reaction when he told them he was gay and it’s hilarious. ‘Happy gay or AIDS gay?’ said his mother!
Dodani’s stand-up mostly revolves around how homosexuality is received in India. He also jokes about being brought up as an Indian in Arizona, because “you can really feel people’s disappointment when you don’t live up to their stereotypes,” he says.

Audience bursts into laughter by his matter-of-fact yet witty tone. “Dude, seriously one of the funniest and most pointed monologues I’ve heard in years. You break every boundary and expose all the preconceived notions we have,” a user commented.
LGBT rights in India has been a controversial debate but since June 2015, it’s legal for same-sex people to indulge sexually and get married in the USA after the US Supreme Court made it legal.
