A road rage incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow has gone viral after a woman was caught on camera slapping a pizza delivery agent and demanding Rs 30,000 in compensation following a minor collision. The video, filmed by a bystander, has triggered strong criticism online, with many users calling out the misuse of power and mistreatment of gig workers in India.

According to reports, the delivery agent’s two-wheeler accidentally brushed against the woman’s vehicle while manoeuvring through traffic. In response, she lashed out, slapped him in public, and demanded immediate payment.

“Road pe jaoge toh kuch bhi karoge? Agar gaadi chalani nahi aati toh chalata kyu hain? Pehle phone kar aur paisa mangwa” (You go on the road and think you can do anything? If you don’t know how to drive, why do you even ride? First call someone and get the money), she shouted at him.

The situation escalated further as the woman allegedly tried to snatch the delivery agent’s phone, stopping him from contacting his employer. Soon, other delivery workers arrived at the spot after receiving a call from their colleague, while bystanders stepped in to calm the situation.

“You don’t have the right to slap anyone,” one of them told her. She retorted, “Aap gyan mat dijiye, agar isne nuksaan kiya hain toh yahi paise dega. Aap police bulaiye” (Don’t lecture me. If he caused damage, he’ll pay. You can call the police.)

The clip has since sparked a heated debate online. “The pizza delivery guy deserves compensation of Rs. 50,000 or more for the public humiliation & mistreatment he endured. Her damages can be claimed from the vehicle insurance co., so there’s no need to trouble the poor guy. The police can impose a fine on guy for rash driving,” a user wrote. “This is the entitled behaviour of these hippos Men are forced to take laws in their hands,” another user commented.

“This lady is clearly frustrated with other things in life. She is lasting all her anger at home or office or with neighbours on this poor delivery boy. What a violent temper,” a third user reacted.
