The tiger population in India is thriving with their number estimated to be more than 3,167 now. To sustain the efforts of conservationists, it is important to avoid man-animal conflicts.

A video that shows a tiger roaming in the field in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district while a farmer ploughs his land in the background is a perfect example of peaceful co-existence. A man named Raj Lakhani posted the video of the tiger on Twitter Wednesday. The 52-second clip shows a tiger prowling in the paddy field. As the tiger moves about freely in the field, a farmer is seen ploughing his land on a tractor.

“This is Pilibhit, UP. A tiger roaming in the field & in the background farmer plowing the field. Video shot by another farmer,” Lakhani captioned the clip.

Since being posted, the clip has received more than 1.1 lakh views.

“Must be the edge of Dudhwa national park, pretty high tiger density there,” commented a user. “That’s why they have elevated watch towers in those regions, you can see one in this video also, made of Bamboo,” said another. “Love it when humanity coexists with nature!” complimented a third. “What a beautiful video!!” wrote another one. “Majestic walk!” another user said.

“Not sure whether to smile, or cry. On the one hand, it shows an apparent attempt at coexistence. On the other hand, a stark reminder of the loss of habitats and prey. An adage comes to mind “the tiger will eat even grass, when left with no choice”!” another netizen expressed.
