Hearing the in-flight announcements during a flight can be quite a drab experience. Unless you are taking a SpiceJet flight with pilot Mohit Teotia, who has become popular on social media for his poetic delivery and one-liners. Known as the “poetic pilot”, Teotia has often gone viral for his poems during in-flight announcements. And now, Teotia has shared a video in which he recited a poem based on Independence Day. “Angrez aaye they bananey hame ghulam, lootne yeh desh sone ki chidiya tha jiska naam. Aur fir ahankaar me kiye unhone Jallianwala Bagh jaise kayi sharmnaak kaam par badle me humne unka aisa bithaya system, ki bas bhaagte dikhe insaan. Aaj 23 ki umar me hum chala reh hai Facebook aur Instagram, kyu ki tab 23 ki umar mein Bhagat Singh ne tyag diye the praan (English had come to rule over us and to loot this country that was known as golden sparrow. In their arrogance, they did shameful deeds such as Jallianwala Bagh massacre and in revenge we did something and they were seen running away. Today, at the age of 23 we are able to use Facebook and Instagram because of Bhagat Singh who at the age of 23 sacrificed his life for the nation’s freedom),” he said in the poem, loosely translated from Hindi. “Happy Independence day ! We still have a long way to go but let’s celebrate what we have achieved.Vande Matram!” Teotia captioned the video.
