The song became massively popular soon after its release in March 2022. In a proud moment for Indians at the 95th Academy Awards, RRR song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Composed by MM Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and vocals by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the song became massively popular soon after its release in March 2022.
In a night to remember, the performance of Naatu Naatu was introduced on the stage by Deepika Padukone and received a standing ovation from the audience at the ceremony.
Keeravaani and Chandrabose picked the trophy and the composer sang a song dedicating his award to India. In his acceptance speech, Keeravani sang a self-composed song in honour of RRR director Rajamouli, and the entire nation of India. Padukone called the song a “banger” and the following performance had the audience on their feet.
Social media erupted in joy as Naatu Naatu won the Oscar and netizens posted many congratulatory messages.
