After Kolkata and Bengaluru, Pune was ranked the third Indian city with the slowest traffic in 2024-25 by TomTom Traffic Index. The ranking was based on average travel times over a standardised 10 km distance.

Now, a Pune resident’s X post has showed just how bad Pune traffic can get. Sharing their experience, the user wrote, “Dropped my friend at Pune Airport as she was leaving for Dubai. She reached Dubai and I’m still stuck in Pune’s traffic.”

Reactions poured in, with many users venting their own frustrations. One user called out poor road planning, saying, “That Viman Nagar road from the airport towards Kalyani Nagar was built less than a decade ago. God knows what Taadi were they drinking to make that road as narrow as they did. Shameful/shameless.”

Another person wrote, “It’s a fact. Same happened with me. I left from Nagpur Airport to Pune and reached in 1 hr 10 mins for around 700 kms + around 15 mins to come out. And it took around 1 hr 40 mins for my mother to reach airport from home around 27 kms.”

“Pune, Bangalore says hello,” said one user, pointing out that traffic is worse there. Another Bengaluru resident wrote, “2.5 hours from Delhi’s airport to Bangalore airport. 3.5 hours from Bangalore airport to home which is 30kms away.”

One X user shared an ordeal: “Bro, it took me 3.5 hours to cover just 15 km and reach home. The route was from Mundhwa to Vishrantwadi via Kharadi.”
