A passenger had a terrifying near-miss at Jabalpur Railway Station on the evening of October 17 when a routine snack purchase went horribly wrong. According to a viral video circulating on social media, the traveller’s UPI payment for a samosa failed, prompting the vendor to physically hold him back as the train began to depart.
The clip shows the train moving in the background as the man desperately tries to climb aboard. To free himself, he is forced to hand over his wristwatch to the vendor — yet even then, the seller doesn’t immediately let him go.

According to the video, the vendor wanted to ensure the passenger also got samosas, and some extra, before he could leave.
The video, shared widely on social media, has prompted a mix of shock and criticism. Viewers called the incident “dangerous and absurd,” highlighting how small disputes can escalate into physical confrontation when trains are in motion.
Reacting to the viral video shared by @thewhatup, one user commented, “Return of the barter system.” Another user said, “Gave samosa tho.” One Instagram user wrote, “He gave him extra samosas to compensate the cost what.”
Railway authorities have not yet commented on the incident, but the footage serves as a stark warning about the risks of rushing onto departing trains and the unpredictable consequences of minor payment disputes at busy stations.
