A picture of a Subway employee that embodies the sentiment ‘Where there is a way, there is a will’ is going viral across social media. The photos show an employee studying a book when there are no customers to attend to.

These undated pictures were posted on Twitter by IPS officer Dipanshu Kabra (@ipskabra). While sharing the inspiring pictures Kabra wrote (as translated from Hindi), “Meet Kareena. She works at @AmbujaMall, in @SubwayIndia located in Raipur. In between the coming and going of customers, she manages to study in the little free time she gets. Those who make excuses of “not getting time”, learn that even a few spare minutes can also be used like this.”

Kabra’s tweet got hundreds of likes. Commenting on it, a Twitter user wrote, “Very nice Sir, today’s generation is extremely Talented & ready to go the extra mile for becoming an Independent human being!”. Another person said, “This is sad and not at all inspiring. Why should anyone have to undergo such hardships to become a part of the capitalist system which created the suffering in the first place?”

In May last year Shaik Abdul Sathar from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh revealed in an inspiring LinkedIn post that he took up numerous jobs such as delivering food for Zomato and Swiggy to driving cars for Ola and Uber, during the night, while at the same time, he studied code in the morning. Finally, his hard work paid off when he secured a software engineering job at the Bengaluru-based company Probe Information.
