Imagine sitting through a college lecture and then out of nowhere the smell of fresh dosa wafts through and the next thing you know, a student is offering it to anyone who would care to take a bite. This is exactly what happened at a US college when musician and social media personality Pedda P cooked fresh dosas with a side of chutney and potato masala for his batchmates.

Pranav Pannala or Pedda P, a US-born Indian fusion singer, shared a video of the wholesome act on his Instagram account and quickly received thousands of likes. In the video, even the professor seems to good-naturedly accept a plate of dosa.

Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “not all heroes wear capes, some give food to hungry college kids ”, while another netizen referred to the act as a “Desi side hustle”.

A third person said, “I just hope it tasted good, otherwise I’m having second hand embarrassment overhere ”.

On February 24, Pedda P released a song titled My Dosa with another artist, ShakesProd. Interestingly, the two are also the founders of the Dosa Student Association which aims to “spread dosa awareness and best practices regarding making crispy dosas”. In its recruitment form, the team mentions that they have a zero-discrimination policy and anyone “Brown, white, small, tall, round, square whatever” can join.
