A Sri Lankan fisherman got into a tough spot when his boat broke down, leaving him stranded in Indian waters. What made things worse was that he also developed a heart condition but thanks to the quick response of the Indian Coast Guard, he was evacuated soon.

The fisherman reportedly developed the serious ailment while his boat drifted owing to an engine failure, adding to the already dire situation. The Indian Coast Guard swung into action, dispatching a helicopter to rescue him from the troubled waters.

The incident occurred around 100 nautical miles off the Chennai coast, according to a PTI report, which added that the fishing vessel had sent out a distress alert seeking help.
