A lot of people are into fitness and going to a gym these days. While it is good to follow a fitness routine and adopt healthy eating habits, one should be careful about overexerting themselves. It is advisable to workout under the guidance of a certified fitness trainer but one should employ due caution while choosing one.

A fitness trainer is going viral for employing harsh training methods for his clients. Twitter user Pawan Durani (@PawanDurani) shared many videos showing the trainer speaking aggressively and holding a bat and threatening to hit them if they fail to do the task. In one video, he exhorts a man to lift 210 kg while doing squats. He threatened to hit the man on the head if he failed to do two squats.


In another video, he is seen telling his clients that if he sees anyone consuming liquor or smoking, he would bash them up.


In other videos, he is seen chiding people if they have eaten Chinese food or a samosa and making them do gruelling exercises as punishment.


The videos didn’t go down well with netizens who said this is what is wrong with the fitness industry.
“India has some of the worst sports culture and coaches in entire universe. They think the worst behaviour of coach is – the better he is,” a Twitter user commented. “Gym trainer version of the banker who became famous this week,” said another. “Just a glimpse of everything wrong with the fitness industry,” expressed a third. “Is that even safe,” asked another netizen.

The gym trainer in the videos has been identified as Nitesh Soni who has more than 5.92 lakh followers on Instagram. He has a YouTube channel as well, called The Nitesh Fitness Empire.
