It is common knowledge that food items at airports are overpriced. People often avoid buying food at airports unless there is an emergency. On Sunday, a Twitter user Sejal Sud (@SejalSud) said she bought ‘Masala Maggie Noodle’ that she bought from an airport kiosk and shared a receipt of the order.
Sud, who is an ‘entrepreneur’, ‘YouTuber’, and an ‘International Speaker as per her Twitter bio, wrote, “I just bought Maggi for ₹193 at the airport. And I don’t know how to react, why would anyone sell something like Maggi at such an inflated price ”.
In the comments, many people chastised Sud for buying instant noodles at such a high rate and then feigning ignorance about the price.

Commenting on her tweet, a Twitter user wrote, “I am not worried that she had to pay ₹193 for Maggi. I am more worried that out of all things available she had to eat Maggi at the Airport.”
Another person wrote, “The problem here is an oversimplification and fueling the ‘sab loot rahe hain’ mindset. When one buys Maggi from a supermarket and cooks it at home, one pays much less. But at an airport, one pays not just for Maggi but also for expensive real estate, labour, capital, etc.”
Journalist and popular radio show host Neelesh Misra also weighed in. Misra wrote, “We have created a social narrative in which we are considered in a certain patronising way if we take out our tiffin boxes and eat at an airport or a flight. We need to start normalising carrying our food. Like it used to be. Outside food is often not good for the health anyway.”
