Caught on camera: Woman steals flowerpot in broad daylight; netizens seek explanation

An X user said that in another similar incident, two girls were caught stealing a big flowerpot.

Thefts are commonplace, but it is not often people steal flowerpots. In a peculiar incident, a woman swiping a potted plant from outside a house before speeding off on her scooter was captured on CCTV. The video, shared on X, shows a relatively quiet street with a few pedestrians going about their day.

The woman, on a scooter, is seen halting abruptly in front of a house as if she noticed something. Without hesitation, she parks the vehicle, disentangles the plant’s stems from the surrounding foliage, and places the pot on her scooter. Even as a car drives past her, she remains unperturbed, hops back on her scooter and rides away.

The video was posted by X account ‘Ghar ke kalesh’ along with the caption, “A lady on scooter got caught stealing flowers pots in broad day-light.”

The video has gone viral with over a lakh views. Many users have reacted to the video.

One user commented, “What’s with the women stealing flowerpots? A couple of days ago, 2 girls were caught stealing a big gamla but failed due to its weight. But seriously, what do they do with these flowerpots?”

Another user wrote, “I don’t understand the Obsession with flower pots.” A third user said, “Yeh Tulsi, mere aangan ki.”

A month ago, a similar video had gone viral. It showed a woman driving a BMW taking a potted plant from outside an event venue in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida. This footage garnered thousands of views on social media, leaving many viewers puzzled.
