There are some people who show an indomitable spirit when it comes to overcoming hardships. Iqbal Singh, who was bedridden for 12 years after a car accident, is now working as a Zomato delivery executive and his video is winning hearts and inspiring netizens.
A food blogging page on Facebook called ‘Amritsar Walking Tours’ shared his video a few days ago. Facing financial hardships, he drives a mechanised wheelchair to deliver the food orders on Zomato. Singh said, “I went to Sri Hemkund Sahib in 2009. On 14 June 2009, I had a car accident and it left me bedridden for 12 years.”
After that, he was given this mechanised wheelchair by a charity organisation and he wanted to work for Zomato to support his family, he said. “I received a lot of help from strangers and I am deeply grateful to them,” he said.
He also demonstrated in the video how he fulfils his orders. Singh said he started working for Zomato 15 days ago and has trouble negotiating the route as sometimes he is not familiar with the streets. He said he manages to complete 5 to 7 deliveries a day and earns Rs 200-250 but is still happy as he is able to earn his livelihood. Singh said he has two children and a wife whom he has to look after.
