Aditya Srivastava, who got first rank in Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Examinations 2023, arrived at his hometown in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow to meet his family. Srivastava was welcomed with garlands and bouquets at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport on April 22.

Shared by ANI, the viral video shows Srivastava —swamped under garlands—meeting his family, touching their feet, and accepting bouquets from his well-wishers. “Aditya Srivastava, who secured the first rank in the Civil Services Examination, arrives in UP’s Lucknow, received by family and friends,” ANI wrote on X.

Interacting with the media, Srivastava credited his parents and teachers for his success.

The video garnered over 75,000 views on X, amassing reactions from netizens. Reacting to the video, a user wrote, “This is second time he must be getting this welcome Well deserved. @adityasriAIR1 By the way nice change in the handle name. Ab toh kaam karle bhai!” Another user commented, “Deserving welcome to the Talent Number 1 of India.”

“Congratulations,” the third user wrote.

An alumnus of IIT-Kanpur, Srivastava earlier said he prayed to be in the top 70 and did not expect to get the first rank. “Till the morning, I was praying that may God put me in the top 70. It took a bit of time to sink in that I have got 1st rank. I don’t think anyone can say that he or she was expecting to get 1st rank,” he had said.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, Srivastava’s father Ajay Kumar Srivastava said, “Despite being in training, Aditya continued his preparations diligently. We anticipated a rank between 30 and 40 due to his hard work, but the result exceeded our expectations,” he said.
