For non-vegetarians, butter chicken is one of their absolute favourite dishes when eating out. But can you imagine a dish called ‘100% Veg Butter Chicken’? Well, it may sound bizarre but that is what a restaurant is offering on its menu.

A Twitter user named Aneetta (@aneetta_joby_) shared a screenshot of a menu of a restaurant and it had listed a dish called ‘100% Veg Butter Chicken’ priced at Rs 199. The photo accompanying the dish looked like butter chicken and it was also marked with the red sign depicting it was a non-vegetarian dish, leaving people confused. “Spot what’s wrong,” she captioned the tweet.

Shared on March 25, the tweet has received more than 43,000 views and it left netizens perplexed.
“Veg butter chicken,” commented a user. “When you don’t want to mention vegan but also want to play safe,” said another. “Sounds like veg biryani,” joked a third. “The chicken was certified vegetarian till it became part of your butter chicken, that is why vegetarian butter chicken,” another user posted.

“Well I can still play along with Veg Butter Chicken but the non-veg symbol is what troubles me,” another netizen shared. “That’s exactly what the restaurant wants and you gave it. Free publicity,” wrote yet another.

Recently, British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay had posted a video of his butter chicken recipe but it failed to impress many Indians who called it bland and missing many key ingredients.
