Star cricketer Virat Kohli displayed a phenomenal performance in the first ODI against South Africa at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, scoring his 52nd century in the format. An unexpected moment unfolded soon after the cricketer achieved the milestone.

A young fan ran onto the pitch, rushed straight to Kohli, and fell at his feet in an emotional gesture. Security guards quickly stepped in and pulled the fan away, while Kohli stayed calm and composed.

The fan appeared overwhelmed, as if he couldn’t believe he was standing before his cricket idol. Even as he was escorted away, he wore a smile. The incident soon became a major talking point among fans on social media and commentators in the stadium.

Sharing the video, an X handle, @toxifyxe, wrote, “That guy really lived the moment of his life. Virat Kohli is truly the god of this game. Every pitch invader who reaches him ends up touching his feet instead of going for a hug. And the smile on his face after… priceless.”

The video prompted a wave of reactions, with several users calling the fan lucky to have met Kohli. However, a section of users criticised the act.

“Please don’t support this. There are many ways to celebrate your idol within yourself. It doesn’t have to be like this, because it sets a bad example. Most Indians should start getting inspired by their idols rather than worshiping them. Worshiping them will take you nowhere,” a user wrote.

“This is risky it’s not joke it’s a security threat to our players,” another user commented. “moment when the whole stadium is jealous of you,” a third user reacted.

“There is a lot of love in this child for Virat seeing it made me very happy,” a fourth user said.
