While we all know dogs are a man’s best friend, a recent incident in the US shows they might be good drivers too. A chihuahua in the US caused quite a scare after it managed to reverse the vehicle it was sitting in and cross a four-lane road while its owner was busy at a gas station.

According to a post by the Slidell Police Department, the car was parked at a gas station at Gause Boulevard, LA when the incident happened.

“A couple was pumping gas at a gas station on Gause Blvd when the five-pound chihuahua somehow put the vehicle in the reverse. The SUV rolled backwards, crossed over a 4-lane road and came to rest at the gas station across the street,” read the tweet, which has now gone viral on social media.

Once viral, it did not take long for the post to be flooded with reactions. While many criticised the couple for not turning off the ignition of the vehicle, others wondered how the dog managed to put the car in reverse gear without pressing the brakes.
