US Secretary of State Antony Blinken showcased his rockstar persona as he strummed the guitar and sang the song ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ by American blues legend Muddy Waters. Blinken, who describes himself as a “(very) amateur guitarist” on X, demonstrated his musical talent on the stage as he performed at an event to launch the US State Department’s new ‘Global Music Diplomacy’ initiative. Before he began his performance, Blinken joked, “If this doesn’t clear the house, I don’t know what will.” “I couldn’t pass up tonight’s opportunity to combine music and diplomacy. The 61-year-old diplomat has been serving as the 71st Secretary of State since January 2021. He has previously served as deputy national security advisor from 2013 to 2015 and deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017 under President Barack Obama.
