Pakistani influencer shows China’s 'palm payment' technologyThe phrase “China living in 2050” has been trending for some time now, often shared with videos showing technology innovations in China. Now, Pakistani content creator Rana Hamza Saif has shared a video showing one of friends demonstrating how he can pay using just his palm.
The video begins with Saif’s friend explaining how those who have “registered their palms” can pay for pretty much anything––across China––without having to use a smartphone or even internet. The group of seven then walks into a nearby grocery store and Saif’s friend can be seen explaining the different payment methods, eventually paying using his palm.

With almost 10 million views on Instagram, the video has gone viral. Responding to it, one user wrote, “China is obviously ahead of most of the world, including the USA.” Some users pointed out that India isn’t far behind, and instant payment is possible in India as well. An individual wrote, “In India, it’s UPI, best in the world.” Another user said, “India me bhi wallet nahi rakhte ab mobile se hi sari payment ho jati hai.” A third user commented, “Its same as the adhaar biomatric payment India is using since 4-5 years.”
This isn’t the first time someone has posted about China’s palm payment technology. Before Saif, Harsh Goenka, chairman of RPG Group, shared a similar clip on X. In the video, a woman is seen talking about China’s palm payment technology and how it is making a big impact. The woman talks about her experience using this method to pay for a ride on the Beijing subway.
