Donald Trump uses GOT-inspired photo on Iran sanction, leaves HBO, cast and Netizens unimpressed

The message came after the Trump administration announced it would reinstate sanctions on Iran removed under the 2015 nuclear deal. “The United States has launched a campaign of economic pressure to deny the regime the funds it needs to advance its bloody agenda!” the official White House tweeted much similar to the “bloody plot” of the hit series.

The tweet definitely did not impress HBO or its actors. Taking to Twitter, the show’s broadcasting channel wrote, “How do you say trademark misuse in Dothraki?” However, no reference to Trump or his tweet was made. “We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes,” said HBO in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Even series creator and author of the book, George R.R. Martin suggested in a reply tweet, you can just make sure to vote.

Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark tweeted, “Not today.” While Sophie Turner aka the Sansa Stark just wrote “Ew” in disgust.
