A woman and her husband were vacationing on Pensacola Beach in Florida last week when their relaxed time was interrupted as they found a mako shark stuck on the shore and struggling to get back into the water.

While talking to Storyful, Tina Fey recalled that she was in the ocean when her husband Josh yelled at her to get away from the water as he could see the shark near the shore. After they observed the shark closely, they realised that it was stuck. This prompted Josh to pull the shark back into the water and he was soon joined by other men. They finally managed to pull the shark back into the ocean and watched it swim away.

Recalling this moment Tina told Storyful, “After a few seconds of seeing it struggle to get back in the water, my husband took charge to try to help it. After a few attempts and two others jumping in to help, they managed to get it back into the water.”

Tina got this shark rescue moment on camera. Matt Devitt, a Meteorologist at WINK News, shared this clip on his Facebook page on September 16.

Commenting on it, a Facebook user wrote, “Yes! The people on the beach were fantastic! Saving this shark was an amazing action and it’s great to have it back in the bay. Protecting marine life and ecosystems is a responsibility we all share, and hopefully this example will draw more attention and action!”
