Anurag Bajpayee, the Indian-American CEO and co-founder of the billion-dollar water tech firm Gradiant, has been drawn into a high-profile investigation surrounding an elite brothel ring allegedly operating out of upscale apartments near Harvard University. The ring reportedly catered to a clientele of doctors, lawyers, corporate executives, and public officials.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the brothel charged as much as $600 (Rs 50,000, approximately) per hour, with clients required to provide identification, workplace credentials, and references before being granted entry. Investigators are now studying detailed client records as part of what is being called “The Cambridge Brothel Hearings,” a series of legal proceedings exposing over 30 prominent individuals accused of paying for sex.

Despite the controversy, Gradiant has publicly expressed support for its CEO. “We believe in the justice system and are confident that this will resolve favorably in due course,” said Felix Wang, a company spokesperson. “Unrelated to this, Gradiant will continue to pursue excellence in technological innovation and to strive towards our mission to ensure clean water for all society.”

Who is Anurag Bajpayee?

Anurag Bajpayee is an Indian-origin engineer and entrepreneur with an impressive academic and professional background. He earned both his master’s and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

In 2013, he co-founded Gradiant, which has since grown into one of the leading clean-tech companies in the United States. His work has been recognised by Scientific American, which named his innovation among the “Top 10 World-Changing Ideas” for its contribution to global water sustainability.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Bajpayee completed his schooling at La Martiniere College in Lucknow in 2003 before moving to the United States for higher education.
