In India, no other pen is more recognisable than the Reynolds 045 Fine Carbure pen. Often associated with clerks, teachers, and government offices, the pen comes in three colours, blue, red, and black and it is most known for its blue cap and white body.
On Thursday, a popular X account, @memorable_90s, posted that Reynolds is going to discontinue its iconic pen. The account posted a picture of the pen and wrote, “Reynolds 045 Fine Carbure will no longer be available in market, end of an era..”.
This post soon gathered over 2.7 million likes and over 53,000 likes.
In the comments, people wrote about the nostalgia that the pen evoked. Commenting on the post, an X user wrote, “I still use the same..ordered 15 of these for my office. I think they will be the last ones now.”

Another person shared pictures of the sketches made using the Reynolds 045 Fine Carbure pen and wrote, ‘What I use this pen for all of my artworks , bro ”.
However, a few hours later Reynolds debunked the rumour it was discontinuing the pen.

In a statement posted on its social media accounts, the stationery company wrote, “To our esteemed customers, partners, and stakeholders. Recent misinformation about Reynolds in various media is misleading and inaccurate. Reynolds, with its 45-year legacy in India, has consistently prioritized quality and innovation”.
“We have strong future plan to expand and grow the writing business in India. We encourage everyone to refer to our website and social media channels for accurate information. Upholding the trust you’ve placed in us remains our utmost priority. Thank you for your unwavering support,” it added.
