Samsung Galaxy Buds 2, which the South Korean tech giant launched back in 2021 is one of the best wireless earbuds you can buy right now, especially if you can get them for around Rs 6,500.

These in-ear wireless earbuds have a premium look, sound really good and offer a bunch of useful features you might have slept on. If you have a pair of Galaxy Buds 2 or Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, here are five tips and tricks that will help you enhance your audio experience.

Adjust the ambient sound mode

The Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro both offer active noise cancellation (ANC) and ambient sound modes. While ANC comes in handy if you are trying to work in a noisy environment, the ambient mode can be useful if you want to listen to your favourite music playlist or podcast and want to stay aware of your surroundings.

While Samsung does not allow users to adjust the ANC level, you can customise the ambient sound mode. To do so, connect your Galaxy Buds and launch the Wearable app on your phone or tablet.

From the noise controls section, switch to ‘Ambient Sound’ and you will see a new option named ‘Ambient sound customized’. Selecting it will take you to a new screen where you can adjust the ambient sound volume on the left and right earbuds as well as choose between a soft and clear tone. After fiddling with the settings for a while, adjust the slider to your preferences and you notice that the ambient sound mode is more useful than ever.

Read Aloud Notifications The Read Aloud Notifications feature is really handy if you want to stay updated while on the go. (Express Photo)

Read notifications aloud

As the name suggests, the ‘Read notifications aloud’ feature helps you check notifications from your phone without having to open it. While the feature automatically reads aloud your notifications by default when you are not using the phone, you can enable the ‘Read aloud while using phone’ to hear notifications on your earbuds even when the phone is in use.

Users can also choose which apps they want to hear notifications from. Also, tapping on an app name will let you choose if you want the earbuds to read aloud the summary or the full content.

Use Ambient sound during calls

If you use Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) when listening to music and suddenly get a call, chances are that might raise your voice when talking to the other person because you are unable to hear your own voice clearly.

Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 has a pretty nifty feature that can stop you from screaming or talking loudly on a call by enabling ambient sound mode whenever you pick up a call. To enable it, open the Wearable app on your device and select the ‘Use Ambient sound during calls’ option. Turn on the toggle and the earbuds will now automatically switch to the mode so you can clearly hear your voice when on a call.

Double tap earbud edge You can quickly adjust the volume levels by simply tapping the edge of the earbuds. (Express Photo)

Double-tap the earbud edge to control volume

Galaxy Buds 2 lets you customise the earbud gesture using the Wearable app, but there’s an option that lets you double-tap the earbud edge to increase or decrease the volume. However, the hidden feature is disabled by default and needs to be manually enabled.

To find it, open the Wearable app, scroll down a bit and tap on ‘Labs’. Now, turn on the toggle named ‘Double tap earbud edge’. Now, you can double tap the edge of the left and right earbud to decrease and increase the volume level.

To check the fit, press the ‘Earbuds settings’ option in the app and tap on ‘Earbud fit test’. Before you check your fit, make sure you are in a quiet place before you hit the ‘Start’ button.
