Expanding its smartphone portfolio,Japanese electronics major Panasonic today launched an Android-based handset for Rs 7,990. Panasonic T31,the fifth model to be launched since its entry into the Indian market,runs on Android Jelly Bean operating system,has 4-inch WVGA display screen and dual-core processor. "With our latest offering,we aim to go beyond the metros and cater to our consumers across tier-II/III cities and deliver a remarkable mobile experience to the Indian mass consumers," Panasonic India Managing Director Manish Sharma said in a statement. He said the company will continue to offer a wide range ofphones in India in future also.
