Samsung Galaxy Note 7 sales will be delayed in India too as part of the global suspension of sales following battery issues with some devices. In a mailed response, the Korean tech giant said it is committed to producing the highest quality products and take every incident report from our valued customers very seriously. "In response to recently reported cases of the new Galaxy Note7, we conducted a thorough investigation and found a battery cell issue." However, Samsung clarified that till September 1 there have been only "35 cases that have been reported globally". "We are currently conducting a thorough inspection with our suppliers to identify possible affected batteries in the market. However, because our customers’ safety is an absolute priority at Samsung, we have delayed sales of the Galaxy Note7 in India," the note said from the Samsung India spokesperson. The company said it acknowledges the inconvenience this could cause in the market, but said the move is aimed at ensuring that "Samsung continues to deliver the highest quality products to our customers". The company has earlier said it would prepare replacement devices for sold phones, but the process could take about two weeks. Launched on August 2 in New York, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was supposed to go on sale in India from September 2. Pre-orders had been closed in August. However, over the past few days there have been reports of the battery exploding while charging in the latest Galaxy flagship. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with dual curved edges and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor in the US and Exynos 8890 chipset in other markets. It is this in the Exynos version of the phone that issues are being reported. However, the initial reviews of the phone have been positive.
