Reliance today launched Jio AirFiber, an internet service that delivers broadband-like speed over the air. The wireless internet service will help Jio overcome the challenges of last-mile connectivity by bringing internet to areas where it is hard to lay down optical fibres.
Jio AirFiber is currently available in 8 cities – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
Apart from offering internet in hard-to-reach areas, JioFiber will also offer more than 550 digital TV channels in HD with users getting free access to more than 16 OTT apps like Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Sony Liv, Zee5, JioCinema, SunNXT, Hoichoi, Discovery+, Universal+, ALTBalaji, Eros Now, Lionsgate Play, ShemarooMe, Docubay, and EpicOn. The company is also offering a Wi-Fi router, a 4k Smart Set Top Box and a voice remote at no additional cost.
The cheapest Jio AirFiber plan costs Rs 599 per month, has a maximum speed of 30 Mbps and offers access to 14 OTT apps. If you want more speed, check out the Rs 899 plan, which has the same benefits but offers unlimited data at 100Mbps.
For those who want Netflix, Amazon Prime and JioCinema Premium, the Rs 1,199 offers unlimited data at 100Mbps and access to 550+ channels.
Jio is also offering AirFiber Max plans for heavy users which offer 550+ channels, and 14 OTT apps and include access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and JioCinema Premium.
The most pocket-friendly Jio AirFiber Max plan offers unlimited data at 300Mbps for Rs 1,499 per month, whereas the Rs 2,499 and Rs Rs 3,999 plans have a maximum speed of 500 Mbps and 1000 Mbps respectively. However, these plans are only available in select areas.
To get a Jio FiberAir connection, you can give a missed call on 60008-60008, visit the Jio website or go to the nearest Jio store. The company says it will install an outdoor unit on your terrace or outside the home that will cost Rs 1,000, but if you opt for an annual plan, the fee will be waived off.
