mRUPEE has announced its tie-up with IRCTC for one-tap payment solution for rail ticket bookings. mRUPEE is a subsidiary of Tata Teleservices and allows easy booking through its wallet.

The IRCTC portal sees approximately 4.5 to 5 lakhs bookings per day on an average.
“We’re excited that these kinds of meaningful partnerships are helping to not only give our customers the ease of quick and convenient booking, but also give a thrust to the government’s mandate of enhancing wider adoption of digital money in India,” said Pradeep K Sampath, Chief Operating Officer for mRUPEE.

MobiKwik had recently announced that it will feature as the first payment option while booking train tickets via IRCTC Connect Android app. Users will be able to pay for their tickets directly through MobiKwik’s wallet and will not be re-directed to the MobiKwik app.
