Fujifilm launches X-M5 mirrorless digital camera with AI-powered moving object detection

The Fujifilm X-M5 is the lightest model in the X Series and is packed with advanced features for both stills and video.

Fujifilm, On Tuesday, introduced -the X-M5 mirrorless digital camera, which is also the lightest model in the X Series, offering advanced photo and video recording capability, including subject detection AF that can detect moving objects using AI. Priced at Rs 83,999 for the body and Rs 94,999 with a kit of 15-45mm Fujinon aspherical lens, the camera will be available for purchase across the country via offline and e-commerce platforms.

“The X-M5 embodies Fujifilm’s legacy of blending cutting-edge technology with an intuitive design. With this launch, we aim to strengthen our presence in India’s rapidly growing digital imaging market,” said Koji Wada, Managing Director, Fujifilm India.

The Fujifilm X-M5 is equipped with a 26.1MP APS-C sensor and is powered by an X-Processor 5 image processing engine. With a compact and lightweight design, the camera can shoot up to 6.2K resolution videos with up to 30fps in movie recording mode in 10-bit, and it also offers 20 different film simulation modes. The camera uses AI to detect and focus moving objects such as animals and cars.

The camera comes in two colour options — silver and black, both offering a premium finish and weighs just 355 grams. The in-body stabilisation (IBIS) ensures that the camera takes sharp images and videos even in challenging and low-light situations.

With a 3-inch vari-angle touchscreen display along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, it is much easier to share files with smartphones and PCs. To cater to the current trends, the camera can also shoot 9:16 vertical videos in short movie mode.

The camera also comes with optional accessories like the Cooling Fan FAN-001, which ensures continuous photo/video shooting even in high temperatures, and Tripod Grip TG-BT, which makes it easy to take handheld shots.
