With services like Fitness+ and products like the Watch, Apple is already ahead of the competition when it comes to offering digital health coaching services. Just like every other big brand, Apple is also jumping on the AI bandwagon, but in a different way. According to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on an AI-powered health coaching service.

The service has been codenamed Quartz, and it is said to motivate users to work out and stay healthy. The AI-powered health coaching service is said to be pre-built into the Apple Watch. Like the Fitness+ service, the health coach service is also said to come with a price tag in the form of a monthly subscription. Right now, it is unclear whether this service uses on-device computing power or cloud servers to generate AI-based results.

According to Gurman, Apple has involved a lot of talent from the Siri and AI teams in this project to fast-forward the development. According to the current timeline, the service could launch as early as 2024. However, if there are any roadblocks, the launch could be postponed by a year or two.

Besides, the company is also said to be working on other fitness-centric features to track emotions and log the user’s mood. Apple is also said to be introducing a new health app for the iPad at WWDC 2023. The new app is said to be optimized for analyzing various health-related data on a large screen and is expected to debut with iPadOS 17.
