Google Nexus 6P and Google Nexus 5X are the first smartphones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow
At the Google event on September 29, the search giant announced that Android Marshmallow will start rolling out to Nexus devices starting next week. Now owners of Nexus devices have already starting getting OTA update.
Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 9 will get the Google Android M update. Google Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2010) and Nexus 10 are unlikely to get the update.
Android Marshmallow brings some much needed improvement to the most widely used mobile operating system. The new Google Now on Tap aims to make contextual search better while Doze will fix the battery woes with most Android smartphones. Here is everything new in the latest Android Marshmallow update.

Motorola

Motorola has had a very good record with its Android updates thanks to near stock Android ROM on its devices. Motorola was the first to rollout Android 5.1 Lollipop and it will continue the same with Android M. While we don’t know when Motorola will start rolling out new OS but we do know which devices will get the upgrade

Huawei, the name behind this year’s flagship Nexus 6P has announced the list of devices that will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The update will be rolled out with Huawei’s own Motion UI on top of it.

HTC had earlier announced that it would roll out latest Android OS to its flagship devices within 90 days of announcement and it took to Twitter to reveal which phones would get Marshmallow update. The post says both HTC One M8 and One M9 will get Marshmallow by the end of 2016.

Sony has officially confirmed that it will update all the Xperia phones and tablet from 2014 (Source: Sony)
Sony has an official announcement about all the Xperia phones that will get Android Marshmallow but the announcement fails to give a timeframe for the rollout
